Keeping up with the tradition of winning
Spring is a competition time and many students of the Sharon Music Academy traditionaly participate in various music competition and contests. Keeping up with the tradition of winning our students successfully represented Sharon Music Academy in 2009 competition season.
Benjamin Zheng, Lucy Zhou, Sabrina Zhang and Henry Karshis received awards and raving reviews at 2009 URI Piano Extravaganza, which you can see on our bulletin boards. Sophie Tollefson won the second prize ($300) in Chaminade Music Society Competition, Walter Xu has passed auditions and played in Southeastern Massachusetts District Orchestra. Sabrina Zhang and Angelique Scully won the first places at the very competitive and prestigious Massachusetts Music Teachers Association 2009 Bay State Competition. At the same competition Kunwoo Shin won the 3rd place, Andrew Song and Christopher Chen received 4th place and an honorable mention.
In May Danielle Oh will perform at Carnegie Hall in New York as a finalist of American Fine Arts Festival.
